Plastic Surgery Introduces Zeltiq™ - What a Cool Way to Reduce Fat!
By Lois W. Stern
Note: Our readers were really on their toes last month! We had an incorrect link with this article, and many of you wrote to let us know. Thank you so much. It is now listed correctly, below.
Plastic surgery welcomes Zeltiq™, the newest kid on the block for fat reduction. What intrigues me about Zeltiq™ is its totally non-invasive form of body contouring, inspired by a most curious observation: that children who habitually sucked on ice Popsicles developed cheek dimples, presumably due to loss of fatty tissue from their cheeks. The Zeltiq™ technology takes advantage of this greater sensitivity of fat cells to cold (as compared to muscle or skin cells.) Learn more about Zeltiq.

Secrets From Your Editors

Patty's Secret

As Executive Producer & Host of The Health & Beauty Revolution Show, I had conducted over 800 radio interviews (including those with over 400 New York Times best-selling authors) before receiving an e-mail from a name then unfamiliar to me. In a few carefully chosen words, Lois W. Stern introduced herself and her book, Sex, Lies and Cosmetic Surgery, expressing the thought that we might be a good fit for an interview session. Would I be interested? As I receive over 99% of my interview requests through high powered PR agents, I was intrigued by her forthright, almost innocent approach. After reviewing her book, I did take Lois on as a guest and she gave a great interview, providing an insightful look at cosmetic surgery from the eyes of both patient and physician. Her impressive scholarly background was detectable in her written work and media delivery. I knew Lois was special. A friendship ensued and the rest, as they say, is history. It seems simply destiny that that one innocent e-mail would morph into a partnership and friendship. Do you know that although we share incredible synergy and intimate details of one another's lives, we have yet to meet face to face? That too is destined to occur!
